# Cold Email — Town BizOps

_Send AFTER: appendices filled, automation built, memo exported to PDF/Google Doc, Ashby application submitted. Address to Jean-Denis Greze + Head of Business (confirm name on LinkedIn first; likely email patterns: jd@town.com, jeandenis@town.com, firstname@town.com — verify before sending, or use LinkedIn DM as fallback)._

2. Metered usage meters the moat — a monetization memo for Town
3. I did the BizOps homework before applying

**Body (v1 — to JDG, cc/+ Head of Business):**

Hi Jean-Denis,

I'm a Town user — the onboarding is the best I've experienced in any product, full stop — and I just applied to your Business Operations role through Ashby.

Rather than lead with a resume, I wrote the memo I think your first BizOps hire writes in month one: pricing × activation × the credit model, built from public data and a week inside my own account. The short version: your retention story runs through "first automation built" (the 99%), but the Free tier can't build automations, the trial clock ignores activation, and the $0 default overage cap means your most successful users' assistants go silent mid-month. The memo has three fixes and the 30-day plan to validate them with real data.

About me, briefly: I launched the live-audio monetization product at ShareChat (180M-user platform) — +50% creator retention, $14.4M revenue — ran GTM for its ads product to $60M ARR, and did strategic finance in the CEO's office through a $50M raise. CA exams top 1%, Kellogg MBA, based in SF.

If the memo is half-right, I'd love to walk through it at 222 Kearny. If it's wrong, I'd honestly enjoy hearing why even more.

**Variant for Ashby "additional info" field (shorter):**

One thing beyond the resume: I use Town daily, and instead of a cover letter I wrote the monetization memo I believe this role owns in month one — your 99% retention stat (first-automation activation) against your pricing page (activation paywalled at Pro, calendar-gated trial, $0-default overage cap), with three proposed fixes and a 30-day validation plan. It's here: [link]. I'd rather show the work than describe it.

**Pre-send checklist:**
- [ ] Head of Business name confirmed; email addressed to both
- [ ] Memo Appendices A & B filled (from 03_usage_appendix_capture.md) — DO NOT send with empty appendices
- [ ] Automation screenshot embedded in Appendix B
- [ ] Memo exported (Google Doc with link-sharing, or PDF attachment — Doc preferred: shows comment activity)
- [ ] Ashby application submitted FIRST (so the email lands while the app is fresh in the pile)
- [ ] Resume tailored via resume-system skill ("Business Operations & Monetization" title framing)
- [ ] Subject line chosen; [link], [phone], [LinkedIn] placeholders replaced
- [ ] Voice pass + /grill-me gate on the memo before export
